Finally, here’s the news we’ve all been waiting for:

Ensemble Theatre has a new space for our exciting (if abbreviated) 24/25 Season and it’s in the Marinello Little Theater, an intimate 135 seat black box theater- located in the Lombardo Student Union on the campus of John Carroll University in University Heights!Our two Mainstage productions will be:

:: Henrik Ibsen’s ‘Enemy of the People’ A Rustbelt Adaptation ::

By Les Hunter :: Directed by Becca Moseley :: February 7th-23rd, 2025.
There's trouble in the water and only Dr. Tammie Stockman can sound the alarm. Set in a mid-sized Rust-Belt city during the Trump era, this adaptation of An Enemy of the People delves into questions that were as pertinent for Ibsen as they are today. What inspires people to action? Can scientific discovery mobilize outcomes when economic opportunities are at stake, and fear is pervasive? Will Tammie sacrifice everything, her job, her friends, her family--for the truth? Or is she just the enemy of the people?

“Highly thought-provoking (and) … a chilling modern-day version.” (Kerry Klawson, Akron Beacon Journal)
“(Hunter’s) adaptation of 'An Enemy of the People' … feels as timely as ever.” (Cleveland Scene Magazine, Christine Howie)

:: Heisenberg ::

By Simon Stevens (“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime”) :: Directed by Tom Fulton :: May 8-25, 2025
Amidst the bustle of a crowded London train station, Georgie spots Alex, a much older man, and plants a kiss on his neck. This electric encounter thrusts these two strangers into a fascinating and life-changing game. Simon Stephens’ sharply original HEISENBERG brings to blazing, theatrical life the uncertain and often comical sparring match that is human connection.

“On its surface, [HEISENBERG] is a satisfyingly sentimental, life-affirming mating dance between two people who are so utterly dissimilar that of course they are made for each other. But if you choose to tune into the quieter frequencies, you’ll detect the presence of a probing work that considers the multiplicity of alternatives that could shape our lives at every moment.” —The New York Times.
